SUMMARY: Assists the Course Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent in presenting superbly maintained golf course, practice facility and grounds in an effort to enhance guests' overall experience.

DUTIES: Assists in maintaining golf course and grounds in a manner consistent with the facilities overall goals. Assists in organizing, leading, and managing maintenance crew members. Provides training to personnel. Assists in developing annual, monthly and weekly work plans. Is well versed in the requirements associated with the White Horse Turf Management Plan. Assists in supervision of planting, fertilizing and maintaining all turf, plants, shrubs, and trees. Assists in selection and application of fertilizers and nutrients for all plant material. Assists in the calibration of all mowing, fertilizing and pesticide application equipment. Assists in maintaining the drainage and irrigation systems. Assists in meeting requirements of Surface Water and Ground Water Monitoring Plans. Assists with implementation of a comprehensive safety program for employees, members and guests in compliance with state, and federal laws. Reports all course condition problems to Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent on the day the problem is first identified. Reports all course equipment problems and/or concerns to the course mechanic on the day the problem or concern is first identified. Maintains an active membership in the GCSAA and WWGCSA. Provides input to Course Superintendent and Assistant Course Superintendent on personnel. Assists in the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets. Develops an annual personal professional education plan that meets or exceeds association requirements. Increases personal skills through an annual education plan that focuses on becoming specialized in a particular practice i.e. (Spray Tech, Irrigation Specialist). Assists in scheduling personnel consistent with PME's payroll policies and procedures. Assists in conducting monthly department meetings to share information, received feedback and update staff on projects and plans. Performs other supervisory functions as requested by management. All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree in Turf Grass or Sports Turf Management preferred, or a combination of education and experience. Minimum of 2/3 years of experience working at an established golf course.  Two to three years supervisory experience, preferred.
